For surgical wounds left to heal without stitches:

For surgical wounds closed with stitches/staples and you were instructed to keep the bandage dry for the week:

For surgical wounds closed with stitches/staples and you were instructed to apply ointment to the site:

For surgical sites closed with a skin graft:

For surgical sites with a full length leg wrap.

For surgical sites covered with Tegaderm (waterproof covering)
